Terms of Service

1. What Sagentum is

Sagentum is an independent assessment registry for MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers. We publish quality assessments of MCP servers based on a publicly documented 8-dimension methodology. Assessments are informational — they represent our analysis of publicly available information and live testing results at the time of assessment. They are not guarantees of server behaviour, security, or fitness for any particular purpose.

2. Using the registry

Sagentum's registry and assessment data are free to access. You may use assessment data, scores, and findings to inform your own integration decisions. You may cite Sagentum assessments in your own documentation, provided you link to the original assessment page and do not misrepresent the score or findings.

You may not scrape the registry in bulk for commercial redistribution, present Sagentum assessment data as your own, or use the data in ways that misrepresent the assessment basis or findings.

3. Assessment accuracy and disputes

We make reasonable efforts to ensure assessments are accurate. Assessments are based on documentation available at assessment time, static repository analysis, and live endpoint testing where available. Scores reflect the server's state at the time of assessment — they may not reflect subsequent changes.

If you believe an assessment is factually incorrect, the dispute process is at /methodology. Disputes require specific counter-evidence. Valid disputes are reviewed within 48 hours.

Sagentum assessments are opinions based on evidence, not legal certifications. We do not warrant that any server assessed as Production Ready is free from defects, vulnerabilities, or unsuitable for your specific use case. Integration decisions remain your responsibility.

4. Vendor submissions and certification

Server developers may submit their servers for assessment via /submit. Submission is free. Formal certification — which includes a documented assessment report and licensed badge — is a paid service.

Certification fees are charged for the assessment process regardless of outcome. Vendors pay whether they pass or fail. The fee pays for the work of assessment, not for a favourable result. This policy is non-negotiable and exists to protect the independence of the assessment standard.

By submitting test credentials via the submission form, you confirm you are authorised to provide those credentials for testing purposes and that their use by Sagentum for assessment testing does not violate any terms of service or agreement you are subject to.

5. Live testing

Sagentum tests publicly available MCP server endpoints as part of the Full assessment type. Testing is disclosed at /testing-policy and uses a maximum of 15 calls per server per assessment with an identified User-Agent.

Server developers who do not wish their endpoints to be tested may opt out by emailing testing-opt-out@sagentum.com. Opting out results in a Documentation + Static Analysis assessment with a lower score ceiling. It is not penalised beyond the reduced coverage.

6. Intellectual property

The Sagentum assessment methodology, scoring rubric, and published assessments are the intellectual property of Sagentum. The methodology is published openly for transparency — publication does not constitute a licence to reproduce it commercially or to represent it as your own.

Assessment data accessed via the API (when available) may be used subject to the API terms published alongside the API documentation.

7. Limitation of liability

Sagentum assessments are provided for informational purposes only. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Sagentum accepts no liability for decisions made on the basis of assessment data, for errors or omissions in assessments, or for any loss or damage arising from reliance on assessment scores or findings.

Assessments do not constitute security audits, legal advice, or professional certification of any kind. They are structured opinions based on publicly available information and automated testing at a point in time.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be noted in the changelog. Continued use of Sagentum after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from use of Sagentum are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
